Bay Muskie

Three muskies boated during an enjoyable day on the Bay. A 45", a 47" and this 47-1/2" were the rewards of this pursuit. This one went 36 lbs. and 24-1/2" girth.

A day on the water before the whitetail opener.

Tim joins us for the whitetail opener. He out fished us in the early evening, but his luck didnt continue into the evening row-troll for musky. On to whitetail tomorrow.

On the board

No musky this morning, but Darin put us on the board with a walleye. Caught a few this morning. Perfect morning. 40's, light breeze, and sunny.

Biggest Musky of Year

Great Evening capped off with a 48" Musky casting at Sunset on the Bay with fishing buddy Bret Alexander.

Tim"s Biggest Walleye of the Weekend

Jeff added a 32 inch musky to the weekend total.

Great to back on the water again. Jeff landed the only fish of the morning, a 38 inch Pike.

Superior Smallmouth

A surprise while fishing for walleyes.  A big 21 inch Lake Superior Smallmouth.

Final count

42 holes drilled, 6 hours on the ice,12 crappies and a perch that an excited cameraman decided to keep.  All in a days work.

Highland Pursuit Season Two begins...on the ice. Marks but none caught so far.

Great way to begin SuperBowl Sunday

Spent a few early morning hours on the ice before the big game and had 12 nice crappies to show for the effort. The afternoon  was topped off by our beloved team in the Green and Gold making the PACKER NATION very proud. 

Evening of Row Trolling

Leon and I scored on another nice fish. Heavy 38 1/2 inch fish hit a jointed depth raider.

Meanwhile, on the water and afield...

A perfect morning here in the Highlands. A balmy 37 degrees greeted us which instantly brought on that lovin' feeling of fall. The team split up this foggy morning - two scouting the food plots and two on the water. The row trolling crew got it done, just as the sun was burning it's way into the thick horizon. Darin, sporting the new headgear, and oarman Leon boated a 39-1/2" musky, catching the action on the bow cam. A great moment you should see on the dvd.















Kevin and I let the bears sleep in and headed to the fields, hoping to get a pre-season look at what we will be chasing next weekend. Our pursuit was rewarded with a couple of nice bucks and a beautiful sunrise. Most bucks are shed with some light sparring among the small ones.

Mission Accomplished!

Great Day on the water. Began before 6am on the Flambeau River and had 4 Muskys in the boat before 10am. A 35 inch and 3 undersized. Went back in the afternoon with Erich and his nephew Nic from California. The mission was to get Nic his first Musky. He never musky fished before today. In an hour he missed a nice fish on a figure 8 and reeled in a fish I hooked on the end of a long cast. Nic's first Musky was 37 inches.

Newest 'Biggest Musky' entry for the 2010 Season

This is the biggest musky I've caught so far this year. It came in on a figure 8. Measured 43-1/4" and was successfully released.
